We are excited to announce that the call for applications for the second round of Reef-UKC Seed Funding is now officially open! This is a fantastic opportunity for UK academic institutions to secure funding for innovative research.

Comprehensive guidance, including the funding call details, abstract template, and application forms, can be found on our website under the “Seed Funded Project Round 2″ link.

We strongly encourage applications from all UK academic institutions, with a particular emphasis on involving early career researchers and underrepresented groups. Reef-UKC members may also extend personal invitations to potential applicants to foster broad participation.

International partners are welcome to join applications, provided the lead research is based at a UK University. We are happy to facilitate introductions if needed. Furthermore, we have dedicated funds to cover travel costs for invited international partners to attend project events and workshops.

Non-academic partners are encouraged to provide in-kind or cash support to applications, particularly if it enhances impact. However, due to the nature of EPSRC funding, non-academic partners cannot be lead applicants or directly receive funds.

The assessment process will involve three stages:

a) A 200-word abstract submission

b) A presentation

c) Full application
